Vab Goel
A business executive with more than ten years of investment practical experience, Vab Goel assesses beginning and late phase investment options in the systems, services and Internet-related fields. To begin with focused on electrical engineering, Mr. Vab Goel received a Bachelor of Science degree in the field received from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Right after graduation, Mr. Vab Goel contributed several years within the telecommunications industry in important engineering and executive management tasks. Mr. Goel performed well at Sprint, becoming the key creator for the Sprint Internet backbone besides contributing to Sprint’s IP and optical network strategy. Moreover, Vab Goel participated a key part in the Global One IP network, a venture partnership involving Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom, and Sprint that offered large-scale network deployments for multinational conglomerates.
Immediately after Sprint, Mr. Vab Goel served at the executive level for telecommunications company Qwest. Building the Emerging Technologies Group at Qwest, Vab Goel oversaw the identification and coming of new networking technologies as Vice President in the group. Additionally, Mr. Vab Goel produced specific relationships with technology start-up companies, such as Juniper Networks, Siara Systems and Corvis. Ahead of this, Mr. Goel performed as V . P . of IP Network Engineering and Advanced Technology, where he utilized his working experience from Sprint to apply the company’s IP Network and Data Center Strategy built to make it possible for seamless services, specially for customers.
Mr. Goel went from engineering and executive positions to investing in 2000, bringing from his activities in network engineering to produce workable investment methods within his venture role. Today, Mr. Goel functions as a General Partner at Norwest Venture Partners (NVP), at which he can make early on to later level venture investments spanning a lot of technology markets. Investments that Mr. Goel made while with Norwest Venture Partners include C2C Pte. Ltd.; Virtela; LifeSize Communications (acquired by Logitech); Qumranet (acquired by Red Hat); and Unisfair (acquired by InterCall). Mr. Goel is working closely with Pontis, Apigee and Veveo presently, and formerly labored closely with Extreme Networks and Winphoria Networks (acquired by Motorola).
